God's Love

Pat and I are on our way out the door to catch a flight to Pennsylvania to celebrate his cousin, Ryan. Ryan is being ordained as a deacon tomorrow on his way to being a priest in the next couple of years. It will be a great weekend to celebrate him and his incredible faith. I needed a card!  So this was just made this morning. Nothing like a little just in time crafting.  Hoping your weekend gets off to a great start! And thanks to CAS(e) this Sketch for my inspiration!

Time Out: Happy Mother's Day

Hi there!  It's time for the reminder post at Time Out!  I'm so pleased that our challenge is to case the fabulous Hannalie. I adore Hannalie's style and have been a long time follower of her blog. She has a beautiful style and works magic with her Silhouette and digital sentiments.  I was inspired by the lattice type background and the gorgeous florals so I decided to make two mother's day for my mum and one for my mother-in-law (she loves blue!).

Here's a bit about Hannalie's card in her words:  My card  (as many other of my cards) shows my love for combining digital elements with conventional cardmaking methods. The lilies are a digital stamp . I decided to leave it uncolored and only added color to the BG by blending distress inks. The sentiment is my own design. I created a "window",  cut with my silhouette cameo and I layered it over the blended BG. I finally added some splatters to add some interest.

Be sure to come play along with us at Time Out! We are sponsored by Happy Little Stamper and the winner will receive a $15 gift certificate.  We'd love to see you there!

Happy Birthday Sandie!

Today is my beautiful cousin, Sandie's, birthday!  I'm stopping by to wish her a day in which she is spoiled rotten by her wonderful husband, Callum. Be sure to pop on over to Sandie's blog to wish her a very happy birthday!

This card was sent to her with lots of love and a few extra bits. A few of us are going together to send Sandie mini card kits as her birthday present.  It's always nice to have extras to create so we thought it would be a great way to celebrate Sandie! I also sent her some new purple inks from Catherine Pooler as Sandie loves all things purple and a touch of grunge too!

So my dearest Sandie...I love you dearly.  So thankful that we are cousins, but even more thankful that we are wonderful friends.  Hope this is the happiest of days for you!  I'll be toasting you from across the pond.  xx

Could...Should...Would...Did!'s been a long time since I've posted three times in a week and I'm oh so happy to be back here again so quickly. This card I made at my crafting weekend using fabulous Concord & 9th stamps, but hadn't shared it. The current Casology challenge was the perfect change to play along!  This card will go to my niece who just graduated from Ohio State in chemical engineering and is off to San Francisco in August to start her job with Clorox. Crazy proud of her!

Hope you are all getting plenty of crafting time too!

Thank You Cards (Post 2)

I'm back with the last two thank you notes for the show choir directors/parents.  The first one is my absolute favorite of the four I made.   Loving that the Misti made making four of this same card super easy.  I always love sentiment sets and this Neat & Tangled set is perfect for many sentiment cards.  And can we just talk about Impress Fresh Inks...I love how they ink up...beautiful in my book!

My second card is for the mom in our show choir who is absolutely incredible. She gets the costumes ready for 180+ kids in our three show choirs. The kids always look incredible on stage due to her time and impeccable attention to detail. The sentiment set is from a new PaperSmooches set I just got.  Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!

Thank You Cards (Day 1) and Weekend Update

Hi friends...we've had a very exciting week at our house. And I'm going to name the moment that I'm going to brag on the boys for just a minute!  Jonathon ran his first half marathon this morning.  It was a nice crisp morning and he finished with an incredible time of 1:38:54 - a 7 minute 33 second pace.  Seriously - can't even imagine running that fast.  He was so pleased.  Awesome to see his smile at mile 5, mile 10 and then at the finish!

Ryan is home from his freshman year and has come home with all As for his second semester after a strong first semester too. So proud of him and that he is loving college.

And Collin and Marcel have both received parts in the summer production of Willie Wonka Jr.  And Collin is Willie Wonka. He is beaming with pride.  He tends to be my shy one so this is a really big deal.  And Marcel will be grandpa George.  Really look forward to seeing them on stage in July.

So...enough bragging on the boys :), think you are probably here for a card. We have the annual show choir banquet tomorrow night and I received a request for nine thank you notes for the directors and a few parents that put a ton of time with the kids.  So off I set this afternoon to quickly make nine cards!  The first one above is using The Stamp Market stamps. Love this fun stamp and I had fun stamping it with a variety of Impress inks...those are my favorite inks for sure!
The second one is using a Winnie & Walter set.  I was so lucky to meet Shay the owner of W&W at my April crafting weekend. She makes sets with the most fabulous sentiments and simply the sweetest person.  Love her and her stamps!  Our school colors are orange and black and our town is hearts are always perfect!  I'll be back in a couple days to share the other two I made.  Hope you all have had a fabulous weekend too!
